藏族人,相信一切都有轮回因果,唯有石头永生不变。而“玛尼”在藏传佛教中代表六字真言,镌刻在石头上的经文,能庇佑祈福者永生永世。堆石成城的嘉纳嘛尼石经城,也是世界上最大的玛尼石堆。
影片主人公(阿更)更求求增是一位传统的藏族玛尼石雕刻师,至今刻制已有上万块供奉于嘉那嘛呢石经城,记录这个不断重复的,从未间断的过程,为我们打开了一个窗口,去反思生命、死亡和轮回。
Tibetans believe that all things have reincarnation cause and effect, only the stone remains unchanged forever. In Tibetan Buddhism, "Mani" stands for the six-character truth, and the Scriptures engraved on stones can bless those who pray for blessings for eternity. The Jianamani Stone sutra city, which is built of rocks, is also the largest Mani Stone Pile in the world.
The protagonist of the film (Ageng) is a traditional Tibetan Mani stone sculptor. Up to now, tens of thousands of pieces have been carved and dedicated to the Jiana Mani Stone Sutra City. Recording this repeated and uninterrupted process, it opens a window for us to reflect on life, death and reincarnation.
