中国大连的蛇岛是生命循环的象征，过往迁徙的候鸟不知不觉地成为了岛上本土毒蛇的猎物。世界上唯一一种半冬眠的蛇，还有一种只能在这个小岛上找到的蛇，但由于缺乏自然捕食者，现如今这种蛇的数量已经达到了2万。在这个周期中，整个蛇岛是无比安静的，不仅仅是旁观者，更是猎物、土地和捕食者之间流动关系的组成部分。毕恒涛来到这个岛屿是为了记录、治疗和研究岛上的生活，如今他已经在这个岛上生活了10年，现在他已经和蛇岛有了密不可分的联系。

Snake island in Dalian, China, is symbolic of the cycle of life, migrating birds from the west, unknowingly become the diet of the island’s indigenous species of viper. One of the only species of snakes in the world that semi-hibernate and a species that can only be found on this small island, yet due to a lacking any natural predator has reached a population of 20,000. All the while a static voice in this cycle, more than an onlooker but an active part of this fluid relationship between prey, land and predator is the islands award winning conservationist Biheng Tao. Tao travelled to the island to document, treat and research the islands life, but has since then lived on the island for 10 years and is now at one with this process.
