本片忠实记录了2023年八组中外青年参与”看中国·外国青年影像计划“的全过程。主题中的“民”取自此次“看中国·湖北行”的主题“民居·民歌·民风”，民间人们的讲述演绎传递技艺和故事的本味，外国青年导演们的再表达则赋予故事崭新的视角，而本片负责揭秘故事是如何诞生的。

The fiml faithfully records the whole process of eight groups of Chinese and foreign youth participating in the "Looking China·Foreign Youth Influence Program" in 2022. The "people" in the theme is taken from the theme of "Looking China·Hubei", "Folk Houses·Folk songs·Folk customs".
