In the Looking China 2024 film titled, “Under The Sun” attempts to explore the ruins of the ancient, Beiting Imperial City ruins. The film aims to highlight the eerie and existential beauty of ruin complex. The documentary follows two employees of the new museum, that was constructed 4 kilometres away from the ruin complex itself. Those employees (a museum guide and a driver) are asked about the history of the site and what it means to them personally. Moreover, the film tackles the idea that history shouldn’t exclusively be read as a factual telling of events and characters, but it should humanise the past.     

2024年“看中国”外国青年影像计划电影《烈日之下》试图探索北庭故城遗址。这部电影旨在突出故城复杂多样的魅力和历史背景。这部影片跟随两名博物馆员工的视角展开，聚焦他们的工作日常。博物馆距离故城大约4公里，在往返的途中，这两名员工（博物馆讲解员和司机）谈及遗址的历史和对他们个人的意义。此外，影片阐释了一个观点：历史不能仅仅只被解读成对人和事件的单薄认知，更应该是把过去赋予人情味。
