本次“看中国”青年影像计划的主题为“人”“家”“国”,所以我们的作品紧紧围绕着本次主题,以三个兰州的家庭为主要拍摄对象,进行跟踪纪实,纪录下这三个家庭截然不同的生活方式及生活态度。用平淡的镜头纪录下真实的生活,以外国人的视角客观展现兰州人家庭的日常生活。
In the film we meet three families from Lanzhou. We see one of their normal days, three families intermixed.
The story starts with Jia, a young student having a school class. We see the local small shop owners starting their day. We meet professor Ren as he leaves office with his daughter.
Later in the day, Jia arrives home to friendly hugs, and her family starts preparing a dinner. The Hansheng family meet customers, the day is very lazy as the university has holidays, most people are away. The Ru family also will have a festive dinner also, and prepare with cleaning and shopping.
In every while, we hear people’s thoughts about life, study, work, future and family.
Later in the day we see Mmm sisters studying, while the dinner gets ready. In the shop, the youngest boy (5 years) arrives from daycare and plays with his father. Zhu Ren studies, then helps her parents to cook fine food.
In the evening we see all families to have time together: Wangs and Rus in the dinner table, the Hanshengs looking after the small boys. Everyone is smiling, we see how important the family is in China.
The documentary juxtaposes three families and tries to show both differences and similarities without embellishing, but just showing. In the voiceover a more serious themes about growing adult, China’s change, history and the meaning of family relations are discussed.
The documentary wants to show that in a changing world close relations of the family are a constant and your loved people are the most important thing in the world.
