影片从导演Emily的视角从发，讲述她从偶然听闻南音演唱到实地切身体会南音表演的过程。影片中，Emily到达泉州后，联系到泉州师范学院南音专业的一名学生陈扬依。在采访中，扬依将南音音乐、历史娓娓道来。随后在其的引领下，Emily欣赏到学生和老师的南音演奏，民间馆阁南音表演以及正式的南音演出，逐渐感受到这门流传至今的乐种的独特魅力以及体会到南音在泉州人民生活中不可或缺的地位。

 

The film, from the perspectives of director Emily ，narrates a story that Emily listen to a clip of Nanyin music accidentally and then explore Nanyin in Quanzhou in person. In the film, after arriving in Quanzhou, Emily  contacted a student named Chan of Nanyin major in Nanzhou normal university, who serve as a clue in the entire film. Via the interview, Chan introduces music, history and other general knowledge of Nanyin. Then, she led Emily to appreciate Nanyin rehearsals and different kinds of performances. Eventually, Emily felt and recognized the unique charm of Nanyin, beside which they understood why Nanyin has already been an indispensable part of local people’s lives.
