Butterflies Within Us" is a short documentary that follows a Chinese farming family. Three generations living under one roof beneath the Qinling mountains. While they work tirelessly day and night, the film quietly observes their routine. For a moment, they take a break from their tireless lives to rescue a ball from the roof so that the children can resume with their play. These children, like butterflies, flutter in front of their eyes with their playful spirit and innocent view of the world. It is significant to pause for a moment and look closely to see the vividness of the little butterflies around us, in order to remember the butterflies within us.
