"between two fires" focuses on a Qinghai Muslim noodle couple who have been living in Shanghai for twenty years. Centered around the everyday life of their halal noodle shop, it records their non-stop work from early morning to late at night, as well as the connections within their community after opening a new store, portraying both the wandering and rooting of life as Shanghai migrants.
