This film focuses on the intangible cultural heritage of Qingpu, Shanghai — the Qingpu Field Folk Song. A unique local ballad, it was spontaneously chanted by generations of farmers working on polder fields. Affected by diverse entertainment and urbanization, young people leave their hometowns, causing the folk song to fade away. Through water-town imagery, the film calls on people to embrace modern progress while preserving the local farming culture and native heritage.
