《杨艳轩》这部纪录片跟随拍摄了一个小女孩，她独自生活在广西的一个小村庄里。杨艳轩是侗族人，她的父母常年到另一个城市去打工挣钱，被留在家里的她在传统文化中独自成长。她独自生活，照顾自己和村里的其他孩子。这部纪录片既展示了她独自生活的困难，也展示了一个十岁孩子所拥有的独立、力量、责任感。她的爸妈离开后，侗族群体就是她的家。
 

The documentary is following a young girl who lives alone in a small village in Guangxi. She is one of the Kam people and while her parent had to move to another province for work, she stays behind in order to grow up in her own culture. She lives alone and takes care of herself and other children in the village. The documentary shows both the difficulties of living alone and also the strength she draws from it by being an independent and responsible human being at the age of ten. While her family is away, the Kam community becomes her family.
