 Kangding is where tradition meets modernity and where her colourful culture and history can be found in a cup of Yak Butter Tea. 杯中斓影 explores Kangding’s historical significance in the Tea-Horse route; a meeting point for the Han and Zhang, where tea and horses were traded. Till today, the Han and Zhang live together in Kangding, like Wang and his wife who live in Sandaoqiao, a village with many Han-Zhang marriages. Visually driven by the colours of Kangding, the short documentary aims to capture the charm, ethnicity and culture of Kangding by using the yak butter tea as a metaphor to explore two cultures.
